Researcher. Educator.
Public Scholar.

Socio-Cultural Researcher working at the intersection of migration, labour markets, and institutional systems.

Dr. Sheri Adekola is a socio-cultural researcher, educator, and public scholar working at the intersection of migration, labour markets, and institutional systems. Her research examines how credential recognition, regulatory frameworks, and policy structures shape access to professions — particularly for internationally educated professionals.

She is Founding Research Director of the Centre for Black Life Course Policy & Data, where she leads a longitudinal research initiative examining professional mobility, institutional access, and life course outcomes among Black and immigrant populations.

She is also Founder and Executive Director of the Ontario Learning Development Foundation (OLDF), leading research-informed programs that support youth, newcomers, and families through education and community-based initiatives.

Dr. Adekola has taught across seven Canadian postsecondary institutions in full-time, partial load, contract, and sessional capacities — bringing her research on migration, labour markets, and institutional systems directly into the classroom.
