Dr. Adekola’s research is closely integrated with community practice. Through her work as Founder and Executive Director of the Ontario Learning Development Foundation, she leads research-informed initiatives focused on labour market access, migration, and institutional participation among newcomer and racialized communities.
Community-engaged research projects include applied policy analysis, collaborative assignments, and community-based research connecting academic inquiry with real world challenges in migration, labour markets, and social inequality

Dr. Adekola has supervised more than 30 undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. In 2023, she coached seven undergraduate researchers through research design, analysis, and knowledge mobilization. In 2018, she mentored a team of postgraduate research analysts who won the national Marketing Research and Intelligence Association student research competition.
